The smartest thing my cat ever did was to recognize an open window by its shape, sound, and movement of air, even from over five feet away. That was a particularly impressive task since the windows in our home are a bit unique due to past renovations. He will also detect when strangers have come near his living area as soon as I let them in the house; he runs off to find a safe spot to wait until it has all cleared again. His ability to combine different pieces of information into complex emotional reactions is amazing to witness!

She’ll stay clear when the energy levels are a bit too high or let out a low growl if someone is trying to get a bit too close for comfort. Her behavior will also change accordingly when I leave the house or return home which I can tell just by watching her greet me directly at the door with purrs and cuddles afterward.
Despite all of these smart traits, I have no doubt that she’s capable of much more as time goes on so I look forward to discovering her natural abilities with great enthusiasm!

My cat is quite the character in our home. She is smart and she shows it every day in unique and creative ways. One time I left a drawer open in the kitchen, and rather than making a mess by knocking items out of it, my cat realized if she jumped on top of it, the drawer would close! Another time, I was trying to shut another cabinet door that was stuck – my cat was right there to help by pushing it to shut with her paw!

My cat’s intelligence is truly remarkable and has become something I enjoy more each day. From puzzles and shortcuts within the home, communication techniques specialized for one another, and even super smart levels of playfulness and interaction between us, it is safe to say my cat is one smart furry friend!
